Love this shot!

New intake and headlamp brackets

So I got the new parts installed this evening 17t front sprocket, chain, front headlamp, and new intake. The intake shoots back and to the left whereas the old one was to the right and very close to the exhaust. Took it up the road and the gearing is much better.

E50 case match

I thought with arrival of a new race crank and its perfectly timed perish of my stock crank I thought I'd case match the engine. So I practised on my original E50 before using my carrying it on the newer case!

So if you fancy a go just secure the engine in a vice or on a stable surface. Then offer the larger gasket mine is a 70cc to the head and mark up the showing case with a permanent marker

E50 case match II

The remove the Gasket to reveal the black marks and the metal which will need removing. The case will need grinding back to match up with the head and allow a greater air flow thus higher pressure! More pressure with a racing crank a 70cc head and a roller bearing should mean the good times rolling baby!

E50 Case match III

Once it's ground out, I used a Dremmel with a grinding wheel. Just shave the metal out, I choose to angle back the cut to to fade the grind to a taper. This should be fine, but we will see!

New shocks and pegs for the magnum

The new 400mm adjustable rear shocks turned up today along with a stock set of Honda c70 pegs. Got them fitted and the bike doesn't half look jacked! Just the chain to do before I can test ride it.

Magnum swing arm fitting completed

So today I finished truing up the rear wheel with some axle spacers off Sinclairio's old wheels. Started to fit the new chain which I planned on adding part of the old one to make up the correct length. But the old chain isn't a standard c70 size so I couldn't join them. Another c70 chains has been ordered. Still need some longer rear shocks.

E50 keyway distroyed!

Look what you've done now! Lol turns out it still works without a keyway just bolt the flywheel down good and hard so it doesn't slip.

Tomos one way bearing finally arrives!

At last!!!! I'll get the tomos motor back together over the weekend and get it MOT'd next week. It's been too long.

Magnum is coming together.

Today I bolted the motor back on the magnum and installed the new swing arm pivot bolt. It's starting to take shape now only a few more bits to get most importantly longer rear shocks.

Intake fixed!

Sinclairio lent me his tap and die set today so I could get the jump on doing my intake. It worked like a charm and the intake bolted right up.

Drilled out broken intake stud.

So I drilled out the broken stud this afternoon. Just need to rethread the hole so Ive ordered a tap and die set.

Changing of the guard

So after a week of the bike running it broke down again. The compression was mentally high around 170 the head was getting fuel and a great spark. So Cookson suggested the crank seals may have gone. They did look ropey so it was a great shout. De-mounted the engine and began work.

Changing of the guard II

When I got the clutch out I found that I now have a three shoe clutch wheel. Ace. Then came across the problem of moving the last bearing to change the bigger of three seals. After researching on Moped army’s wiki I found this picture of a car ball joint fork to pop them up. Also suggested using screwdrivers to force the situation if you haven't got access to a fork.

Changing of the guard III

So then the crank seals are all changed and now its running again. has 140 compression and starts on the first kick again. Saweeeeeeeeet MOFO's

Extended swing arm mock up!

So today I removed the old swing arm from the magnum and mocked up the new aluminum one. I need a longer swing arm pivot bolt and axle bolt and also longer shocks but you get the idea.

Busted intake stud

Since I put the new exhaust on the magnum Its running uncomfortably close the the carb. I decided I'd rotate the intake through 180 degrees. I managed to break one of the studs f@%k! I've removed the motor ready for it to be drilled out.

Extended swing arm

So I decided if I ever want to ride this tiny magnum I'm gonna have to fit an extended swing arm. I've been hunting on eBay and have some measurements down. So far the best candidate is an z50 + 16 swing arm which will give me about 10cm extra length.

New exhaust fitted

Fitting the new exhaust on the mangnum yesterday which took some doing to route it under the seat and fit that silencer under there. But I'm pleased with the result.
